Alexandra van Oeteren, founder, Flemish, has a Masters in Dutch/English, a high school teaching certificate and a diploma in Theatre Science and an NTC Leadership Certification. She also has an MBA in General Management. She has taught adults and children both in classroom and private settings for over 20 years. She is a certified examiner for the CNaVT (Certificate Dutch as a Foreign Language) and was an academic Dutch tutor at Northwestern University. She was the principal of an NTC school in the US for over 15 years. She lives in the Chicago Suburbs and teaches small groups, private lessons and online lessons.
Davina Dhondt, Flemish, has a Bachelor's degree in Dutch and History and is certified to teach. Davina taught Dutch in diverse settings to students of different ages and various levels. Being a jack of all trades she has worked in a variety of industries (hospitality, sales, management, ...) but the one thing that she always goes back to is her first love: teaching. She lives in New York and teaches online lessons, small groups and private lessons.
Katleen Speelman, Flemish, has a Masters and a Teaching Certificate in History, she has taught history and general subject courses s.a. Dutch for almost 17 years. She is passionate about delicious food and the European culture. She also loves to take her students on Virtual and Culinary Trips to Europe and provides European Cooking Classes. She lives in Milwaukee and teaches online lessons and private lessons.
Crystel Lohues, Dutch, has a Bachelor's degree in teaching primary education and a Master's in Special Educational Needs specialized in language problems. She has taught children with different age groups in classroom and private settings for 4 years. She lives in Sydney and is also a teacher of a Dutch school and an adult teacher at a Language Institute in Sydney. She teaches online lessons from Australia and in person lessons in Sydney.
Marcelle Nijhof, Dutch, has worked full time as a teacher in special primary education for 12 years, before she moved to Spain. Working in all types of groups has made her very versatile and resourceful. She lives in Malaga with her husband and son. They enjoy the nature, culture and Spanish language. Together with her husband she's currently also setting up her own company. She teaches online lessons from Spain and in person lessons in Malaga.
Esther Sunnex, Dutch, has a grade school teaching degree. She taught in various primary schools before moving to New Zealand with her Kiwi husband. Besides being a homeschooling mother of five, Esther had her own small company sewing and selling baby carriers and worked in a Dutch pancake house. She also translates books from Dutch to English. She lives in a small town in New Zealand that was the location of the Hobbiton Movie set.
Véronique Willemen, Flemish, has a Master's in French Language and Literature, a translator degree in Dutch, English, Modern Greek and Turkish, and a teaching certificate for ages 6-18. She has taught adults and children in companies, schools and as a private tutor in Greece, Finland, the UK and the USA for over 20 years. Before moving to the USA she was the Chair of the Modern Foreign Languages Department in an all-girls school in London, ranked in the top 1% of UK high schools. In the past she worked as a volunteer for Oxfam Amnesty International and Unicef and she is now active in YWCA and Rotary International. She lives in Evanston, north of Chicago, and provides group, private in-person and online tutoring.
